DPE

On the home page, go to DPE login and then create an account.

Please go to the 'Contact Us' page and submit a DPE registration query. Our support team will get back to you and assist you with login creation.

When you login for the 1st time we ask you to fill your profile. The profile includes your DPE related information, base airport code, price you charge & your checkride aircraft category/class eligibility. This is a one time set-up and will only need to be revisited if anything changes.

It's very easy! You can go to 'Edit Schedule' and let us know what time slots you have available for checkride. For example, you have March 24th afternoon slot available from 12 to 5PM. We have a database of eligible applicants and we will find the best fit and make that checkride proposal to you which you can review and accept.

No, this service has no fee to DPEs. We will charge a small fee from applicants once a checkride is scheduled.

Nothing changes to how checkrides have been done traditionally. The applicant will directly pay the fees to you during the checkride based on your preferred mode of payment i.e. cash/bank transfer etc.

Well, many reasons.

First, about 20 percent of checkrides today get cancelled/delayed due to the applicant not meeting the minimum requirements or not having right endorsement or incomplete IACRA. Before we propose a checkride applicant to you, our support staff will verify endorsements, IACRA, aeronautical experience of applicant to ensure compliance and this will significantly reduce last minute cancellations due to those reasons.

Second, you have total flexibility in managing your schedule. i.e. you tell us your available slot and we match you with the suitable applicant in that slot. You can accept or reject that proposal. Also, If for any reason you need to cancel the scheduled checkride, you can manage that through website and we will handle the communication/rescheduling with the applicant.

Third, you can do checkride at any location. You tell us about your location on any date and open time slots and we will match you with applicants in that location. For example, if you also fly charter or for airlines and you happen to be in Aspen for a 2 day trip, we can find you a checkride applicant in Aspen on those days.

Fourth, we can provide last minute solutions. A scenario is that your private pilot checkride got cancelled for tomorrow due to low ceilings, we can fill that slot for you with a CFII applicant

Our optimization model finds the best match between the DPE and an applicant based on few criterias, major ones being:
1) The exam type match i.e. an applicant seeking checkride for Commercial Airplane Multi-Engine Land will only be matched with DPEs eligible to conduct CIRE-AMEL checkride.
2) The location of both parties and their traveling preferences.
3) The price of checkride.
4) Number of days the applicant has been waiting for the checkride. Given two eligible applicants, the model will provide preference to the candidate waiting longer for checkride.

As a DPE, you can determine the fee you charge for each checkride in your profile. For example, a DPE can charge $1000 for PE-ASEL and $1500 for FIEI-ASE. DPEs also set their own prices for continuing the checkride for the flight portion only.

Indeed, for every kind of exam you conduct, you may set up a communication/checkride scenario in your profile. The applicant will receive an email from the system with your checkride communication and scenario about 3 days prior to the actual checkride. As a result, you won't have to send individual emails before the checkride.

Yes, this website will provide you with access to all of your previous checkrides. Your pass, discontinuation, and disapproval rates are easy to monitor.
After every checkride, you can also complete an optional survey with overall and specific feedback about the checkride and the applicant. i.e., strengths and weaknesses, etc. If suggested, we can automatically forward these comments to the applicant's flight school and instructor to support their further professional development as a pilot.

Applicant

On the home page, go to the Applicant login and then create an account.

When you login for the 1st time, we ask you to fill your profile. The profile includes details like your base airport, traveling preference for the checkride, details on your current pilot certificate etc. Once your profile is completed, you can start your checkride application.

There are many benefits to applicants for using this platform:
1. Track Your Progress: There are specific requirements for knowledge, aeronautical experience (like total time, PIC time, PIC XC TIME, Long XC time with specific landing etc.), endorsements etc. for each checkride your apply for. This website will help you track your progress against those requirements and will help you ensure that you don't miss any nuances to these requirements.
2. Ensure Compliance: Once you submit your application, an authorized staff member will review and approve your applications, that's another layer to ensure you haven't missed any requirements and your endorsements are all complete & correct plus your IACRA is filled out correctly.
3. Schedule Your Checkride With Ease: This platform will find a DPE match for you based on the checkride type, aircraft you plan to use, your location etc. This can cut down the time the applicants need to wait for scheduling their checkride.

Yes, in order to schedule you with a DPE for a checkride, we must confirm that you have satisfied all qualifying requirements, which includes having sufficient aeronautical experience, having correct endorsements and filing complete and accurate IACRA application. With this, we want to ensure we prevent the last minute cancellations and delays in checkrides. This will provide both you and DPEs the peace of mind going into the checkride.

Yes, you can start your checkride application and keep it updated as you gain more hours/experience. However, you can only submit the application once you have 1. Met all the aeronautical experience 2. Passed your knowledge Test 3. Received all required endorsements 4. Your IACRA is completed and signed.

Unfortunately no, our staff will only review and approve checkride applications once you have met all the requirements and your IACRA is signed. This will ensure we are scheduling DPEs with eligible & vetted candidates and there are no last-minute cancellations or surprises.

We will do our best to get your checkride scheduled as soon as possible, however it really depends on supply and demand in your area. Currently, there are applicants waiting for months before their checkride is scheduled, we hope we can reduce the overall waiting time. With more adoption of this platform, the more efficient this whole process will become and it will cut down the wait times significantly.

You don’t need this system in that case for scheduling checkrides, you should utilize the inhouse DPE from your flight school. This platform can still help you track your hours, guide you step by step on checkride eligibility and ensure you have met requirements before going into the checkride.

You will make the payment directly to your DPE during the checkride based on their preferred method of payment.

Yes! With this platform you can schedule checkrides for Airplane (SEL, MEL, SES, MES), Rotorcraft, Glider, Balloon & Powered Lift. There are less than 50 DPEs nationwide approved for Glider checkride so the wait may be longer.

There are no fees to use this platform for tracking your progress towards your certification. There is a small fee of $15 that will be charged only when the platform matches you up with a DPE and both you & DPE accept that proposal. In other words, the fees will only be charged once your checkride is scheduled.

It depends on what travelling preference you set in your profile. The modeling will provide more weightage to find you a DPE match at your base airport. However, if you are open to travel for checkride and you set your traveling preference as 'Open to travel up to 50 miles', the modeling can find checkride match within 50 miles of your base airport and your chances of finding a DPE match sooner goes up significantly.

This way, you can easily bring all the necessary applicant information into your flight school account.

GENERAL

CheckrideCentral is privately owned by a pilot and an aviation enthusiast. The company is supported by excellent developers and aviation staff. We get advice and feedback from DPEs, CFIs and flight schools to bring the best solution to the market.

The goal here is to bring efficiency to the whole process of checkride scheduling. In this age of AI, we believe checkride scheduling process lags 30 years. There shouldn't be a need for manual text messages, phone calls and constant follow-ups for scheduling checkrides. This website creates a platform for the DPEs and applicants to come together and optimize this process.
We believe by eliminating the inefficiencies that exist today, we can ultimately reduce the frustration of applicants waiting weeks or months to get their checkrides scheduled. At the same time, we can increase the earning potential for DPEs by vetting the applicants beforehand and by providing flexibility & solutions to DPEs on many aspects. By adding these values, we hope to reduce the delays in checkride scheduling and eventually bring down the price of checkride while increasing the revenue potential of DPEs.

On the contact us page, you can submit a 'General Inquiry' and our support staff will get back to you.
